Where it was so much easier to make a card with lentils stuck on it; a useful clay pot decorated with powder paint; or a nice charcoal sketch and no matter what we made Mum would always be delighted. As time passes our responsibility increases to find a decent Mother's Day present, and sometimes taking Mum out for a nice treat is much nicer than yet another pot plant.
